Question by Sabrina: How do I configure my keyboard to set a button that puts the computer to sleep?
I spilt orange juice on my keyboard yesterday, and that keyboard had a button to put the computer to sleep without going to start and then sleep. The keyboard didn’t work anymore, so I got a new one. This one doesn’t have a sleep button on it, so I wanted to know how I can use a button to put the computer to sleep. By the way, I have a Windows Vista.

You could activate Stand By or Hibernate mode from the Shut Down Windows dialog box. An alternative to this method is to create your own Sleep button by creating a shortcut on your desktop. Here’s how:
Right click on the desktop.
Select New > Shortcut.
Type rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState in the text box.
Click Next.
Type Sleep in the text box and click Finish.
Now when you click the Sleep icon, Windows XP will put the computer into either Stand By or Hibernate mode depending on how the When I Press The Sleep Button On My Computer setting is configured on the Advanced tab of the Power Options Properties dialog box.

Question by aginzo: How do you recover the keyboard on a Macbook Pro after a spill of diet coke?
I spilled a little diet coke on my Macbook Pro keyboard now the keys don’t respond to my typing. The computer works fine but I can tell they get stuck on certain functions. I am using a USB keyboard to write this.

Take it to the AppleStore and have them clean the contacts under the keys. When you get it back get a silicone keyboard cover and use a long straw when drinking at the computer.

I need to disinfect my keyboard. The best I could do is use some hand sanitizer on it by using it on my hands and then putting my hands all over the keyboard. Is there a better way to disinfect your keyboard if you have to? I don’t feel like I’ve done a good enough job on the hand sanitizer idea, but it’s the best I could come up with as of now.
